Submission Guidelines

For Writers

Before sending your true stories, personal testimonies, articles, and poetry, we suggest that you take a look at our editorial calendar to find out what topics we plan to publish in the next few months.

In order for your article to be published, you will need to sign a contract granting us permission to use it. Mail or e-mail the contract along with your article.
You will have to decide how long an article you want to write, but here are a few guidelines to help you make that decision:

A one-page article is about 675 words.
A two-page article is about 1350 words.
A three-page article is about 2000 words.
A sidebar is about 300 words.

If you are using a computer, type your manuscript using Microsoft Word. Use 12pt. Times New Roman font, and do not insert pictures or use any special formatting. Please DO NOT use the tab key or hit the enter key twice when typing. Save your file with the extension .doc NOT .docx.

Send your manuscript as an e-mail attachement to Lacey Brinley: daughterhood@gmail.com.

Although we prefer that you e-mail your articles and stories, we do also accept neatly typed or handwritten paper copies.
